35mm is Represented by Qench in India

I have been retouching for a very long time. It was the early 2000s when I first put my hands on Adobe Photoshop. A time where even Lightroom didn't even exist. I was amazed at what can be done on the scanned images as I didn't have a dark room. Years passed, I started editing visuals from other photographers. Kept on working, then came international clients, mainly other photographers at first, agencies and companies later on.

When you get introduced to international clients, I saw how top retouchers work. Agencies represented most of them. The reason is that marketing and sales take a lot of time, even more than the actual work itself. The only exception would be that you'd be such a well-known figure in the industry that clients come to you with work without you making any sales or marketing. Of course, this is valid for only a very few lucky ones. In freelance work, you are better off as you outsource as much as possible except your core business. Even you outsource things that are mundane and repetitive, also if they are part of your core business.

Therefore, I looked for agencies to represent me in different countries and regions, including my own. Most even didn't get back with an answer. I understood it doesn't work that way; agencies have to "discover" you. And in time, I even got two other offers, but they never reached a deal, and I let it go, and I continued with my own business till today.

In July 2020, I received an invitation from Qench in India that I learned one of the country's biggest production houses wants to represent me in their country. Many e-mails and some video calls later, I'm happy to tell 35mm is represented by Qench in India. We are very excited and hope will help both companies to work on exciting projects.
